Pay Range and Shift
Accurus Aerospace Corporation provides a base pay range of
$24.00/hr – $34.00/hr . Actual pay will be based on skills and experience discussed with the recruiter. Position: Quality Inspector II – Day Shift
Monday – Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Quality Inspectors are key personnel in the Accurus Quality Department. Their duties include inspection of newly received goods, work‑in‑process items, and final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and work instructions. Inspectors document approvals and non‑conforming parts, engage in problem‑solving, and may provide training on quality and manufacturing processes. Essential Functions
Determine and utilize appropriate inspection methods and instruments (micrometers, height gauges, air gauges, radius gauges, calipers, CMM, etc.) to complete in‑process and final inspection of machined aerospace parts and assemblies. Initiate nonconformance records and disposition of parts not meeting requirements. Complete First Article Inspections to AS9102 and company/contractual requirements. Provide First Article buy‑offs for machined, sheet metal, and assembled parts. Monitor manufacturing operations per manufacturing control plans. Recommend and support process improvements to increase inspection effectiveness and efficiency. Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel to identify root causes, troubleshoot errors and trends, and negotiate resolution of non‑conforming parts and required re‑work or re‑inspection. Complete other duties as required. Maintain regular attendance on‑site at the workplace. Required Education
A high school diploma or GED equivalent. Associate degree or similar post‑secondary or vocational training in a related field is preferred. Required Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a QA inspector for machined parts and/or assemblies; aerospace industry experience preferred. Combination of related manufacturing experience in aerospace and internal training for inspectors may be considered in place of inspection experience. Required experience with CMM; experience in CMM management preferred. Required Skills and Abilities
Accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering documents, quality standards, customer specifications, manufacturing control plans, PCM, and technical design standards. Advanced mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimal equivalents) and familiarity with geometric tolerances. Proficiency in reading precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, tape measures, etc.). Understanding of non‑conforming product and ability to document non‑conformance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Experience with CMM programming a plus. Experience with Excel and ERP systems a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Regularly stand, walk, lift, carry (short distances), push/pull up to 50 lb, and climb stairs or ladders. Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel. Constant verbal and written communication using phone, texts, or messaging. Visual acuity for accurate reading of measuring instruments and color discrimination. Use hands and fingers to operate keyboards, instruments, and manually examine parts. Working Conditions
Manufacturing shop environment with potential noise (hearing protection required). Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally). Potential exposure to extreme temperatures (occasionally). Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes, and other machine shop equipment. PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear, is required. This position is classified as safety‑sensitive. ITAR Compliance
