Job Description
The Power BI Architect will design and implement a modern enterprise-scale Power BI and Microsoft Fabric architecture, focusing on governance, migration strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and user enablement.
This role requires strong leadership in defining enterprise-wide BI strategies and ensuring high-performance, secure, and scalable reporting solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and implement a modern Power BI architecture focusing on enterprise data gateways, workspace structures, and governance frameworks.
Define and lead the enterprise-wide strategy for Microsoft Fabric.
Establish best practices for Fabric capacity planning, workspace configuration, and data governance.
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure seamless integration of Fabric components into existing ecosystems.
Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance Power BI deployment across the organization.
Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to align gateway configurations and data access protocols.
Lead strategic planning and execution for migration from Tableau to Power BI, ensuring data Client and performance optimization.
Design and implement Power BI deployment pipelines supporting version control, environment promotion, and automated validation.
Integrate CI/CD practices for Power BI and Fabric assets for consistent and reliable delivery.
Architect a report bursting strategy for personalized report distribution based on user roles and regions.
Leverage Power BI features such as paginated reports and Power Automate for automated report distribution.
Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies during report delivery.
Develop and execute onboarding strategies for users across business units, including training materials and support models.
Establish role-based access controls, workspace provisioning, and usage monitoring.
Define and enforce governance policies for data refresh schedules, sharing permissions, and lifecycle management.
Partner with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure alignment on data sources and reporting needs.
Serve as a technical advisor and advocate for Power BI best practices.
Requirement/Must Have
Proven expertise in Power BI architecture, governance, and infrastructure.
Strong experience leading enterprise-level Tableau to Power BI migration projects.
Deep understanding of deployment pipelines, CI/CD practices, and Microsoft Fabric.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Should Have
Experience architecting report bursting and automated distribution strategies.
Experience with user enablement, onboarding, and workspace provisioning.
Experience
10+ years in BI and analytics, with at least 3+ years in Power BI architecture and development.
Skills
Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, data gateways, and workspace management.
CI/CD tools and deployment pipeline design.
Knowledge of Azure services such as Synapse, Data Factory, and ADLS.
Qualification And Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
