Medix is partnering with a premier client facility to find a highly skilled and experienced Travel MRI Technologist to join their imaging team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated clinician to provide exceptional diagnostic services as part of a cohesive and supportive team. You will be joining a team of Staff, Senior, and Lead Technologists who work cohesively together to ensure optimal patient care and flow utilizing advanced GE equipment in a dynamic outpatient environment. Location: White Plains, NY Facility Type: Outpatient Imaging Center Start Date: ASAP Length of Assignment: Approximately 22-23 weeks State License Needed: New York (NY) Pay: Competitive compensation packages and stipends available; please inquire with your Medix recruiter for details. Shifts Needing Coverage: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, flexible Monday - Friday. No on-call is required for this position. Assignment Details Clinical Duties The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality MRI and general radiological procedures in accordance with practice standards, including: Performing a wide range of outpatient imaging studies , including perfusion, breast biopsy, and cardiac studies. Operating GE equipment including the 1.5T Artist and 3T Architect (The ONE) to perform approximately 10-12 scans per shift. Assisting on procedures , specifically breast biopsies. Reviewing imaging requests and consulting with the radiologist or referring physician on questionable orders. Properly positioning patients and selecting appropriate options to achieve optimal imaging based on established protocols. Observing patients for changes in status while in the MRI area and intervening or contacting primary caregivers as appropriate. Judging the diagnostic quality of finished medical images before submitting them for radiologist interpretation. Providing detailed explanations of diagnostic procedures to patients and answering questions. Administering contrast media via appropriate peripheral IV access as ordered. Operating and maintaining equipment, including performing QA, scheduling PMs, and maintaining logbooks. Creating a safe environment in collaboration with the MRSO and ensuring the treatment room is clean, safe, and stocked with necessary supplies. Administrative Duties Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality strictly following HIPAA requirements. Performing clerical tasks related to acquiring, processing, and archiving patient records. Keeping current on all organizational, practice, and patient privacy policies and required trainings. Maintaining technical competency through continued education as required by licensing bodies. Contributing ideas for improving practice workflows.
