Staff Accountant (Cost & Inventory Focus) – Manufacturing About the Role The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the company’s finance operations, with a primary focus on cost accounting and inventory management. This position also provides exposure to general ledger activities and offers the chance to work closely with both finance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and track inventory transactions, including raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods

Prepare and review cost accounting entries, ensuring accurate allocation of costs to products and projects

Reconcile inventory balances and investigate variances between physical counts and system records

Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations

Maintain and update standard costs, bill of materials, and related cost accounting records

Support the preparation of inventory and cost reports for management review

Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting

Assist with general ledger maintenance, including posting entries and supporting audit requests

Contribute to process improvements and internal controls related to inventory and cost accounting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (experience in lieu of a degree will be considered)

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management

Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
