Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Aerospace/Defense/Photonics)
Location:
Hamilton Township, New Jersey – Onsite
Salary range:
$98,000 – $170,000 depending on experience
Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in electronics and photonics design to lead the development of advanced systems for aerospace, defense, and commercial wireless applications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design, development, and testing of advanced electrical and photonics systems
Work with analog RF fiber optic links, high-speed digital fiber optic transceivers, and fiber optic amplifiers
Develop schematics, evaluation boards, and characterization fixtures
Utilize simulation tools, software, and test equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, power meters, etc.)
Drive product development through design reviews, verification, and transfer to production
Provide technical reports and data analysis to support product performance and quality
Deep understanding of RF/Microwave/mmWave and optical networking circuit architectures
Proficiency in simulation tools (electro-magnetic, electro-optic, thermal)
Hands‑on experience with system integration, design for high yield/low cost, and industry test equipment
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design tools a plus
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electronics engineering
