The Opportunity We are seeking a visionary and strategic
Director of Brand & Marketing Communications
to be the lead storyteller for the Heartflow brand. This role shapes our narrative and activates across touchpoints, driving top-of-funnel activity and building a brand halo for Heartflow. You will communicate our complex, life-saving technology to two audiences: physicians and healthcare systems (B2B) and patients (DTP).
What You’ll Be Doing
Brand Stewardship & Activation: Activate the Heartflow brand across all marketing communications and target audiences (B2B and DTP). Ensure engaging and consistent execution of brand pillars and visual/verbal identity across channels.
Strategic Messaging & Content: Translate complex technology, scientific data, and medical concepts into clear, compelling messaging to build trust and drive action. Develop overarching content strategy and lead execution of brand content, storytelling, and campaigns.
Integrated Campaign Leadership: Manage integrated marketing campaigns from start to finish, including strategic planning, briefs, content development, launches, and evaluating performance against objectives.
Social & Community Engagement: Oversee social media strategy and activation to grow brand relevance, foster engagement, and participate in relevant clinical conversations.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Build relationships with Marketing, Sales, Product, Clinical, and other teams to ensure impactful brand communications.
Measurement & Optimization: Formalize measurement of brand health, creative performance, and social media (organic and paid). Evaluate campaign performance using upper- and lower-funnel dynamics and ROI analysis.
Agency & Partner Management: Manage external communications consultants and creative agencies, directing briefs to deliver exceptional results.
What We’re Looking For In You
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably business or science.
10+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing, advertising, and strategy within life sciences (medical device, pharma). A mix of in-house and agency experience is preferred.
Experience developing and executing communications strategies for both B2B (physicians, hospitals) and Direct-to-Patient (DTP/DTC) audiences.
Data-driven mindset with a track record of using insights to inform strategy, messaging, and measurement.
Portfolio of innovative creative initiatives that drove measurable success.
Experience as a people leader with a passion for mentoring and building high-performing teams.
Collaborative and effective communicator who can build consensus across cross-functional partners.
Strategic thinker who can see the big picture and execute with attention to detail.
A reasonable estimate of the yearly base compensation range is $192,000 - 260,000, plus cash bonus and equity.
