Base pay range $116,300.00/yr - $264,600.00/yr

Responsibilities Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Employee and Labor Relations, you will:

Provide leadership, guidance, interpretation, and training to managers and supervisors on UC Policy and contract interpretation.

Serve as a senior resource for labor relations and contract interpretation.

Actively participate in local and system‑wide bargaining, including drafting, reviewing, and modifying proposals, soliciting stakeholder feedback, communicating changes, and serving as a primary resource in change implementation.

Coordinate and direct the grievance process to ensure compliance with contract provisions and consistency in raising procedural issues.

Liaise with union representatives and endeavor to resolve issues or concerns at the lowest level possible.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive experience in employment‑related matters and unionized environments.

Advanced knowledge of public sector laws and requirements; healthcare industry and higher education experience preferred.

Advanced knowledge of labor/employment law and the principles and techniques of labor negotiations.

Ability to analyze and draft proposals for negotiations, settlements, and other employment agreements.

Advanced analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating strong organization and problem‑solving skills.

Skill in writing concise, clear, relevant, and persuasive documents, including correspondence, case analyses, and settlement agreements.

Demonstrated presentation skills, including grievance meetings, trainings, and panels.

Advanced knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; comprehensive understanding of how work impacts other areas in Human Resources and the organization.

Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other UCLA offices, the UC Office of the President, and other UC campuses.
