The Commodity Lead Buyer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring timely delivery to meet our business needs. Your expertise in market analysis and supplier relationship management will drive cost-effective purchasing strategies and contribute to our organization’s success.
The position can be remote or hybrid.
Requirements
Develop and implement commodity strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost savings.
Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, supplier capabilities, and price fluctuations.
Identify and qualify potential suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align commodity strategies with company objectives.
Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance metrics are met and fostering long-term partnerships.
Execute purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.
Analyze supplier performance and assess risk to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements.
Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure supplier products meet quality and specification standards.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages.
Establish and maintain comprehensive database of suppliers, pricing, and purchasing history.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and market conditions to senior management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supplier contracts.
