Outreach and Engagement Specialist 2 Location: 1101 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Pay: $34.00 per hour

Status: Regular Full-Time/Non-Exempt

The Outreach & Engagement Specialist 2 (OES2) is a housing-focused outreach position directed at homeless individuals living unsheltered in King County. The primary objective of this position is to aid individuals in housing attainment, with the minimum assistance needed to address each household’s immediate housing crisis. The OES2 will regularly visit clients where they live, work with them to identify and overcome barriers to housing, refer them to other resources in the community (mainstream services, benefit services, food assistance programs, childcare resources, etc.), and connect them to established communities/neighbourhood organizations once they’ve been housed.

Responsibilities

Outreach Responsibilities

Regularly seek out unsheltered clients in the service territory.

Maintain contact while they complete their housing assessment and readiness plan.

Provide intensive housing assistance, including resource referral and advocacy between client and apartment managers.

Provide formal and informal referral services to community resources.

Case Management Responsibilities

Deliver case management for clients with vocational, social, cultural, or medical barriers to self‑sufficiency, including assessment of employability, job readiness, vocational education and training needs, and economic/social self‑support.

Coordinate services with agencies providing mental health, employment security, substance abuse, vocational rehabilitation, and developmental disabilities support.

Administrative Responsibilities

Participate in unit staff meetings and trainings as assigned.

Maintain client case records on Wellsky and HMIS and required forms and reports.

Track, analyze, and input data for county, donor, and internal stakeholders.

Perform other administrative and operational functions as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in related social services.

Experience with Coordinated Entry for All (CEA), Rapid Re‑Housing (RRH), and city, county, and partner human services agencies preferred.

Experience in trauma‑informed care, community building, motivational interviewing, networking, and resource building.

Experience with HMIS entries, exits, and reporting preferred.
