PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience required

BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

Proficient in EPIC charting (self-rated at least 3/4)

Ability to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units

Two professional references required (one must be manager or supervisor)

First-time travel nurses considered with 3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience

Must not have worked as permanent staff at the facility within the past 2 years

No local candidates (must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, Ohio)

PICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU and other assigned hospital units

Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed

Perform advanced clinical skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, chest tube assistance, and continuous sedation

Administer medications and blood products, manage central and PICC lines, and monitor hemodynamics

Utilize EPIC for accurate patient charting and clinical documentation

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Maintain infection control and isolation precautions in accordance with hospital policies

Provide care to neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients in a Level 1 Trauma healthcare environment
