Position Overview
Phoenix Capital, Inc., a leading advisory firm to the mortgage banking industry is seeking a qualified Transaction Analyst to join our Transaction Management Division. This role will play an important part in Phoenix Capital’s transaction execution, including comparative analysis, industry research, and marketing processes. The Transaction Analyst will be responsible for supporting transaction managers, portfolio analysts, account executives and executive management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Pricing and comparative analysis of real-time Phoenix transactions; including regularly updating pricing models in Excel and Quantrix.
Assist Transaction Managers in marketing process for portfolios of mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), including cleansing of loan data, producing teasers/summary reports to distribute to potential buyers; preparing and presenting pricing analyses to clients, and hosting + coordinating transaction calls between buyers and sellers throughout the sale timeline.
Daily collaboration with the Transaction Management team to discuss current workflow, projects, and deal pipeline.
Host weekly internal calls with the Account Executives and Sales Leadership Team to discuss current deal status, market trends, etc.
Prepare presentation material for client specific presentations and perform general industry analyses for marketing purposes (e.g. synthesize complex data, trends, analyses, etc. from a variety of sources and formats into thorough and concise reporting for internal and external purposes).
Track and analyze industry transactions.
Coordinate with our Analytics team to review MSR valuation models pertaining to live asset sale transactions.
Assist in various research projects and other ad‑hoc projects, as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
Excellent written and verbal business communication as the Analyst will quickly become exposed to executive level audiences both internally and externally.
Strong analytic abilities, financial aptitude, and attention to detail.
Advanced Excel and database management skills.
Experience with Alteryx, SQL, Snowflake, or other advanced database management/reporting tools a plus.
Capacity to learn new software programs quickly, including Quantrix and Sigma.
Exceptional time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Ability to perform under pressure.
Comfortable with the challenges and opportunities that come with working for a smaller, merit‑based, entrepreneurial organization.
Residential mortgage loan origination experience (capital markets), understanding of MSR's or discounted cash flow analysis a plus.
Education & Experience
Undergraduate and/or advanced degrees in Business, Finance, Economics, or MIS preferred.
Mortgage banking experience a plus but not required.
0-3+ years of applicable professional experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and being available and responsive via email/phone/messaging.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
(If applicable to role) Travel to meet with clients or potential clients and/or to represent the company at conferences will be required on occasion or as‑needed.
