We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Data Modeling to lead our team in designing and implementing complex cloud analytics solutions with a strong focus on Databricks. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data architecture, cloud technologies, and analytics, along with exceptional leadership and client management skills. Your Key Responsibilities
Understand and analyze business requirements to translate them into technical requirements. Design, build, and operate scalable data architecture and modeling solutions. Stay up to date with the latest trends and emerging technologies. Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) using Kimball dimensional methodology. Design and implement star schemas (Fact and Dimension tables) to support enterprise analytics, BI, and reporting with high performance. Define and model Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), emphasizing SCD Type 2. Determine appropriate grain for fact tables and identify measurable facts and relationships. Design highly denormalized dimension structures to reduce joins. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design appropriate models. Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories. Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance. Manage and provide guidance to a small team of 1‑3 resources. Document and communicate data model designs and standards. Create detailed source‑to‑target mapping documentation and data transformation specifications for ETL/ELT developers. Stay current with best practices and incorporate new techniques into our processes. Guide the team on implementing data modelling techniques such as Kimball’s dimensional modeling. Utilize industry‑standard data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) and manage version control. Cloud knowledge and certification (e.g., Azure DP‑203) is an advantage. To Qualify for the Role
Bachelor’s degree in STEM. 10+ years of hands‑on experience in data modeling. Strong understanding of SQL and Kimball dimensional modeling. Experience with enterprise relational databases or cloud data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). Knowledge of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT architecture, data quality, and metadata management. Mastery of SCD Type 2 implementation; familiarity with other SCD types. Ability to translate complex business processes into efficient technical data models. Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin, Visio, or Power Designer. Experience designing and implementing database structures. Skill in performance tuning and optimization of queries. Cloud certification is an added advantage. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills. Knowledge in Hospitality Domain is mandatory. Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Strong business acumen and client relationship management. Experience managing and leading teams in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Competitive compensation and benefits: base salary range $125,500‑$230,200 (US). New York City Metro, Washington, CA (excl. Sacramento) $150,700‑$261,600.
