Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level 4 to support the Space Base Interceptor (SBI) effort. The Space Base Interceptor (SBI) program will be developing, and deploying proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO) constellation of interceptors. The interceptors must integrate seamlessly with Ground Control, Fire Control, and data transport systems.

Responsibilities

Apply extensive technical expertise, and full knowledge of other related disciplines

Utilize technical problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills to generate, and document system level requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments, and participate in system level verification/data review activities.

Decompose, trace, and verify mission requirements within the designated requirement tracking database

Interface with program management, engineering staff, and external customers

Lead a team of systems engineers to complete efforts per the systems engineering standard

Drive tasks to completion autonomously

Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require use of ingenuity and creativity

Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4yrs engineering experience

U.S. Citizenship is required

US DoD Interim Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application

Strong technical problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Active US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher at time of application

Salary, Benefits & Additional Details Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
