FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Sport Management.
Responsibilities
Teaches courses at the undergraduate level across the sport management curriculum (specifically the sport business aspects)
Teach additional business-related courses in areas of qualification and interest
Aid in the development of curriculum to expand sport management and sport studies offerings
Participates in department-level planning and development activities
Develop professional networks, including community and institutional relationships, to form partnerships and enhance internship and experiential learning opportunities for students as well as potential job opportunities.
Academic and career advising of students
Provides instruction at the undergraduate level using collaborative, instructional technology, and innovative methods.
Provides assessment of students and supports College assessment needs.
Continues expanding knowledge base with continued professional development.
Provides general service to the College, including college and faculty committee assignments.
Preferred Qualifications & Key Competencies
Doctorate in Sport Management (or closely related fields like Sport Studies, Sport Administration/Business, etc.). ABD and Master’s (with experience) considered.
In-person teaching required
College level teaching experience
Sport, Recreation, Wellness, or Leisure Industry experience a plus
Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts college environment.
Growth mindset and institutional teamwork ethic.
Creative, strategic, and thoughtful.
