Job Title: CT/X-Ray Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 1 year minimum License: R.T.(R)(ARRT) Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Experience working as a CT technologist Description: The CT/X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards. Essential functions include producing emergent and routine diagnostic images with fixed and portable X-ray. The technologist will also produce routine and emergent diagnostic images with the CT Room. Adjustment of exposure settings for proper image acquisition is required. Adjustment of patient positioning is necessary to acquire the best images based on anatomical structures. The technologist must adjust the table and radiation beam to minimize radiation exposure, ensuring maximum patient protection (ALARA). Processing images in PACS for the Radiologist is part of the role. The technologist will complete exams per Radiologist protocols. Documentation, charging, and processing with electronic medical records are required tasks. Scheduling patients for appointments in various imaging modalities, including X-ray and CT, is essential. Informing and assisting patients with contrast media administration for CT exams is expected. Involvement with quality control concerning equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety is required. Exams must be completed in a timely and correct manner. Providing customer service to patients and staff is crucial.
