We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Writer to collaborate on the development of Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) for the AN/SQQ-89 A(V)15 sonar system used in US Navy ships, supporting the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS 5B). Your Mission: Collaborate closely with Logisticians and fellow Technical Writers, leveraging your expertise in the SQQ-89A(V)15 system to create accurate and informative technical data. Craft clear, concise documentation and templates that make complex technical concepts easily understandable. Take a leadership role in reviewing technical documents to ensure excellence and compliance. Conduct quality assessments of technical manuals delivered to US Navy vessels. Basic Qualifications: Technical experience with AN/SQQ-89A(V) ACB/APB sonar systems. A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with the AN/SQQ-89(V) system in both operations and maintenance roles. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Exceptional writing and grammatical skills. Strong organizational abilities. Experience collaborating directly with subject matter experts (SMEs). Proven ability to work effectively across diverse teams. Preferred Qualifications: In-depth understanding of AN/SQQ-89(V) system operations and maintenance requirements. Experience with S1000D or similar collaborative product data systems. Knowledge of system functional segments and sonar tactical equipment. Familiarity with system LAN operation and administration. Experience in fault detection, isolation, and localization. Knowledge of remove-and-replace procedures and NAVSEA programs and lifecycle support. Willingness to travel as necessary.
