Location:

Hybrid with up to 50% travel to client location. Candidates located within 25 miles of a DXC office will be required to work onsite 2 times per week.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP BASIS S/4HANA Migration Specialist to lead and execute complex SAP migrations into the SAP RISE Cloud. The role requires expertise in System Deployment Tools (SDT), SAP Migration tools, and HANA database management with proven delivery across Greenfield, Brownfield, Bluefield, and Data Carve‑out projects. The candidate will play a critical role in designing migration strategies, executing cutovers, and ensuring seamless transitions for global enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute end‑to‑end SAP S/4HANA migration projects into SAP RISE (Private Cloud Edition and Public Cloud Edition)

Design and implement migration approaches, including Greenfield (new implementation), Brownfield (system conversion), Bluefield (selective data transition), and carve‑out projects

Utilize SAP Migration Cockpit, Software Update Manager with Database Migration Option (SUM/DMO), SDT (Software Deployment Tool), and SAP Rapid Data Migration tools

Perform system provisioning, database migrations (Unicode, OS/DB migration), and upgrades

Collaborate with functional and business teams to define migration scope, timelines, and cutover strategies

Conduct data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation during carve‑out or selective data transition

Ensure minimal downtime strategies using near‑zero downtime (NZDM) or downtime‑optimized DMO (DO‑DMO)

Manage HANA database sizing, partitioning, performance tuning, and system landscape design

Implement disaster recovery, HA, backup/restore strategies aligned with cloud architecture in RISE

Support sandbox creation, mock migrations, dry runs, and production cutovers

Troubleshoot migration issues, document lessons learned and establish best practices

Work closely with SAP, hyperscaler providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), and system integrators to ensure successful go‑live

Required Skills & Qualifications

10+ years of SAP BASIS experience, with 5+ years in SAP HANA / S/4HANA migrations

Proven experience delivering Greenfield, Brownfield, Bluefield, and carve‑out migrations

Hands‑on expertise with: SUM/DMO (with/without downtime optimization)

SDT (System Deployment Tool)

SAP Migration Cockpit & DMIS

Selective Data Transition tools (CrystalBridge, SNP, Natuvion, etc.)

Strong knowledge of SAP HANA DB administration, upgrades, tuning, and scale‑out/in strategies

Experience with SAP RISE architecture, hyperscaler environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Familiarity with Unicode conversion, OS/DB migrations, and large‑scale global rollouts

Strong understanding of cutover planning, downtime minimization techniques, and risk management

Preferred Qualifications

SAP Certified Technology Specialist in S/4HANA and SAP HANA Migration

Experience with ILM/archiving to support data volume reduction before migration

Hands‑on knowledge of Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, and RISE monitoring tools

Background in regulated industries (Finance, Retail, Healthcare, Utilities, etc.) with compliance‑driven migrations

Soft Skills

Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills

Ability to balance technical depth with business context in customer discussions

Strategic thinker with problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail

Strong team player with mentoring and leadership capabilities
