Job Description
Pay Range: $42hr - $47hr
The UNIX Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing enterprise UNIX and Linux environments.
This role involves system performance management, automation, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to technology roadmaps.
The candidate will provide dedicated support to both operational and project-based initiatives.
Requirement/Must Have
7+ years of experience with Linux (Red Hat, SuSe, OEL) and Unix (Solaris and AIX).
7+ years of experience with systems administration upgrades, patching, configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis, and capacity planning.
7+ years of experience with VERITAS products (VCS and Volume Management) on Solaris.
Experience working with EMC SRDF storage on Solaris and Linux, with skill set to cover other storage technologies.
Strong skills in TCP/IP networking, advanced systems tuning, network topology, and firewalled environments.
Full understanding of routing principles, client/server programming, network-wide file system design, Ethernet, bonding, and PCIe technologies.
Experience installing layered products, analyzing and troubleshooting complex systems, and familiarity with ITSM procedures.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a highly pressurized, multitask environment.
Proficiency in Perl and Shell scripting for automation tasks.
Should Have (Highly Desirable)
Operational experience with Oracle Exadata.
Operational experience with Oracle Exalogic.
Responsibilities
Provide dedicated support to all ‘Run the Bank’ and ‘Change the Bank’ activities.
Perform advanced system tunings based on application-specific requirements.
Drive systems standardization and automation initiatives.
Ensure UNIX environment compliance with technology roadmaps, including OS and hardware upgrades and third‑party software updates.
Respond rapidly to incidents and ensure timely resolution.
Collaborate with UNIX engineering teams and third‑party vendors.
Interface with IT and business clients across all organizational levels.
Participate in global “follow the sun” support model, including weekend coverage.
Perform out‑of‑hours and weekend work as required by maintenance and change schedules.
