Position Summary The
VDC Engineer 2
assists and supports the VDC Manager or Senior VDC Manager on an assigned project. Working under direct supervision, the engineer performs routine daily activities, gathers and distributes information, and coordinates project efforts. The role requires flexibility, strong communication, and client‑service skills.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in developing the project‑specific BIM Execution plan and contract attachments.
Set up and maintain the coordination schedule.
Manage the file exchange of the latest models from trade partners and design teams.
Model building components not modeled by the architect or design team when required for MEP coordination.
Perform clash detection reviews prior to coordination meetings.
Lead weekly coordination meetings and report progress to the project team and VDC team.
Assist with CMBuilder logistics, sequencing setup, and management.
Track and verify as‑built submittals from key trades.
Train project teams or trade partners on workflows.
Monitor software technologies to increase workflow efficiency.
Assist Senior VDC Manager and VDC Managers as assigned.
Conduct activities in accordance with the company’s Guiding Principles and the Way We Work.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills & Abilities
Computer knowledge and efficiency in Autodesk Suite, Bluebeam, Revizto, Tekla, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Manhattan document control.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic math and accounting skills.
Team‑player with dependable and confidential work habits.
Strong time‑management and organizational abilities.
Ability to read drawings and specifications.
Personal attributes aligning with the How We Work framework.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent; related experience may substitute on a one‑to‑one basis.
Four (4) years of industry experience or knowledge of VDC software.
Working Conditions & Physical Efforts
Ability to stand, bend, sit, and squat for extended periods.
Repetitive movements and handling of objects.
Effective communication during meetings, video conferences, and calls.
Manual tasks such as typing, handling tools, or controlling equipment.
Occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 lbs.
Travel primarily within the metropolitan area; domestic travel may be required. Valid driver’s license required.
