Job Summary Program and operate CMM coordinate measuring machines including Leica with scanning technology, and other portable CMMs using Polyworks software. Approve the start of production through dimensional measurement of sample parts.

Essential Functions

Develop, qualify, and maintain CMM programs.

Inspect and approve first piece at start of production.

Inspect and approve final inspections prior to delivery.

Read blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled and fabricated weldments.

Ensure containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified.

Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings.

Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches and PPAP requirements.

Participate in corrective action and preventative action processes.

Participate in Gage R & R studies.

Utilize a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.

Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Apply common sense to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram format.

Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Demonstrate accuracy of work produced, meeting company standards with little to no rework.

Search for new tasks and expand ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.

Maintain punctuality and attendance.

Show willingness and cooperativeness with co‑workers and supervisors, and accept constructive criticism.

Follow quality environmental policies and possess knowledge of AS9100 and ISO14001.

Follow safety procedures, security protocols, and wear proper PPE.

Education

High School Diploma and 3–5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Three to five years related experience.

GD&T experience for print reading.

Basic knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.

Background Prerequisites Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO14001.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands Requires the physical and mental capacity to perform all essential functions. Duties may include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
