The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to be starting August 2026. We seek outstanding teacher-scholars dedicated to excellence in the chemical and biochemical sciences. The department is an American Chemical Society (ACS) approved program, which has a strong, proven reputation for educating and training women of African descent to excel in STEM fields. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in chemistry, biochemistry or a related area and be able to teach courses at the undergraduate level in at least one or more of the traditional subdisciplinary areas of chemistry as identified by the ACS: Analytical, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Organic, or Physical Chemistry. The position also requires contributing effectively to curriculum development efforts, advising and mentoring students, providing service to the department and college, and establishing a competitive and highly productive undergraduate research program. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to working with women and underrepresented minority students through teaching, mentoring, and research are especially encouraged to apply. This position is contingent upon the availability of sufficient funding. Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related area with primary expertise in Biochemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, or Chemical Biology. Posting Information
