Associate Toddler Teacher – Mary Stuart Gile Early Learning Center Base pay range: $16.85/hr – $18.56/hr

Summary The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization supporting 200 staff in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs across a large geographic footprint. The Mary Stuart Gile Early Learning Center, a laboratory school on the NHTI campus in Concord, is a demonstration setting for best practices in early childhood education. We are seeking energetic, organized, and experienced early childhood educators to help students grow while providing high‑quality, emergent curriculum for young children.

Duties Prepare Youth for Success

Respond sensitively to each child’s interests, requests, and needs, interacting positively and encouraging exploration with child‑guidance strategies.

Plan and outline curriculum that meets individual needs, incorporating emergent curriculum elements.

Establish and maintain program goals to ensure the health and safety of all children.

Continuously evaluate programs, track outcome metrics, and verify that activities respond to diverse needs.

Use child‑observation notes to inform curriculum planning and keep accurate, up‑to‑date records.

Account for all children in their assigned group by name and face.

Implement NAEYC standards, GSQ (when applicable), Culture DNA Code, and club safety, compliance, and best‑practice policies.

Administer medications and first aid as needed, communicating all occurrences to families.

Assist with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining classroom well‑being and upkeep.

Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision

Maintain proper record‑keeping and weekly reporting, and provide data for the Center Director or other staff.

Facilitate open, professional verbal and written communication with families, staff, and children.

Supervise classroom staff, students, and volunteers, providing regular performance feedback.

Model techniques and strategies that link theory to practice for volunteers, practicum students, and staff.

Lead planning meetings with the teaching team when needed.

Increase program visibility through daily schedule postings and announcements on social‑media channels and family emails.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate teacher qualified before November 6, 2017, with at least 9 credits in related coursework or 1000 hours of supervised childcare experience in a licensed program, and knowledge of child growth and development obtained through accredited coursework or documented life experience.

Minimum age 18.

Knowledge of current teaching methods, principles, and techniques.

Knowledge of curriculum development and application.

Ability to plan and implement quality programs, with a proven track record of creative and artistic strategies.

Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior.

Ability to motivate members and manage behavior problems with patience.

Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

Strong communication skills across staff, families, and community members.

Willingness to maintain appropriate dress code and adapt to varied learning styles.

Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications in accordance with licensing requirements.

May be required to drive the club van or short bus periodically; a safe driving record is required.

Assist with cleaning and organizing the club.

Maintain confidentiality.

Willing to travel occasionally between locations when requested.

Additional Expectations

Applicants must submit for an FBI fingerprint background check, plus checks through the State of NH Criminal Records Department and FirstAdvantage. The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may deny employment if a disqualifying finding exists.

The organization has a zero‑tolerance policy for abuse and will not tolerate mistreatment or abuse. Violations result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination and cooperation with law enforcement.
