Our Special Events play a key role in delivering one‑of‑a‑kind Learn and Play programming that creates memorable experiences for children and their families. From classes to birthday parties to Parents’ Night Out and specialty events, we believe that gymnastics should be fun, accessible, and beneficial for every child — whether they are trying gymnastics for the very first time or strengthening skills they’ve already learned. This position is a full‑time leader on our coaching team, responsible for both
hands‑on instruction
and
event operations . The Special Events Coordinator will coach recreational gymnastics classes during afternoons and weeknights and lead our weekend birthday parties on Sunday, ensuring high‑energy engagement, safety, and a welcoming environment. In addition, this role oversees a small team of junior event coaches — providing training, supervision and support to ensure smooth, successful events from start to finish. The ideal candidate thrives in an active, fast‑paced environment, enjoys creatively engaging children, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service to families at every touchpoint. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children (being a positive role model is a must) and someone who would enjoy executing our established Play events in accordance with SGA’s mission, core values, policies & procedures. Coach recreational gymnastics classes Monday–Thursday afternoon and evenings Lead and supervise Sunday birthday parties, supporting and guiding party staff Provide high‑quality instruction while ensuring safety and a positive learning environment Actively engage with families to provide outstanding customer service Work both in the gym and within party/event spaces Participation in off‑site, seasonal community events Participation in our paid training opportunities, including SGA University, USAG clinics, sessions offered by our in‑house staff and more! Assist in cleaning duties to keep our gyms clean and ready for classes and events Administrative & Event Coordination Duties
Serve as lead coordinator for all birthday parties, Parent’s Night Out, and specialty events Work with the front desk to schedule parties across all event days (including days not personally worked) Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate party staff, including corrective action and terminations when necessary Manage inventory, supplies, and ordering for parties and events Ensure proper staffing coverage and seamless event execution for all programs Maintain professional communication with families, staff, and leadership Assist in expanding event offerings and overall program growth Work Environment
This is a
high‑activity, hands‑on
role, requiring constant movement, spotting gymnasts as needed, coaching on equipment, and physical setup of party/event spaces. Working conditions are energetic, loud, and interactive with children and families. Benefits
