CNC Operator
Job Description
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Lathe and/or Mill machines. This role involves working with CNC machine language, reading drawings, and adhering to defined guidelines and procedures. The operator will perform inspections, routine maintenance, and necessary duties using manual equipment.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC Lathe and/or Mill machines.
Read and interpret drawings and identify the correct bill of material.
Adhere to guidelines and procedures as defined.
Work from a bill of material (BOM) and bill of operations (BOO).
Perform inspections of workpieces using gauge equipment.
Conduct routine maintenance of machine tools.
Perform necessary duties using manual equipment.
Identify problems with tooling, machine functions, and raw materials.
Perform setup of machine tools from process instructions.
Adjust or modify CNC programming as needed.
Develop and implement CNC machining processes, including programming, process tooling, work holding, process documentation, and first article validation.
Essential Skills
Basic understanding of CNC machine language/codes.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Capability to identify and interpret the correct bill of material.
Proficiency in inspection and validation of first pieces.
Understanding of automation in conjunction with machining.
Full competency in lathe, mill, and multi-axis operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1+ years of CNC Machining Experience.
Knowledge of various types of raw materials.
Tooling knowledge and maintenance.
Familiarity with CNC programming principles and techniques.
