Summary of Job Duties
Participate in the selection process of SSS participants by administering assessments, conducting interviews, reviewing student information and determining eligibility.
Creates student success plans for each participant on assigned case load based on assessed needs.
Responsible for meeting with each students on assigned case load at least once a month to monitor progress and to assess needs and interventions.
Plans and conducts a minimum of two academic and study skills workshops per semester for SSS participants.
Plans and conducts a minimum of two financial literacy workshop per semester.
Plans and conducts a minimum of two cultural events per semester.
Provides academic scheduling support for each participant on his/her case load.
Collaborates with Financial Aid Office to ensure each student's financial needs are met.
Refers students to community resources.
Partners with campus and community organizations and individuals to bring relevant workshops and services to SSS participants.
Qualifications Master's degree required in education, special education, adult education, counselor education or related field.
Background similar to students; experience with disadvantaged students preferred. Experience conducting individual and group counseling preferred.
Experience in a college setting preferred.
