About the Role We are looking for a Strategy & Planning Lead to oversee strategic initiatives across marketing, lead executive content creation, and develop our global investment approach. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed and has deep experience in marketing and business strategy, strategic planning, and operations as well as leading executive-level communications and stakeholder management. They will be comfortable managing projects and working cross-functionally with key partners across Marketing, Operations, Data Science, Finance, and more to solve Uber’s toughest challenges, advocate for high-priority projects, and develop actionable recommendations to drive greater impact and operational rigor across Marketing and the broader business.

What You'll Do

Drive annual strategic and investment planning by translating business priorities into marketing objectives, determining investment allocation across countries and priorities, and sizing investment scenarios

Oversee marketing investments as a portfolio by designing a capital allocation framework, identifying risks and opportunities on an ongoing basis, and developing recommendations based on performance and competitive landscape

Solve highly ambiguous, complex business problems by creating structured frameworks, analyzing and synthesizing large sets of data, and developing actionable solutions

Craft compelling recommendations by clearly and concisely articulating quantitative data as well as qualitative insights, and solutions highlighting assumptions, risks, and tradeoffs to senior leadership

Lead executive content creation by partnering across marketing to develop clear and cohesive global narratives

Own complex cross-functional projects to advance strategic initiatives and optimize day-to-day operations

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of experience in strategy & operations or corporate strategy ideally supporting a marketing organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as previous experience with executive communications

Demonstrated track record of critical thinking

Experience working in fast-paced environments with high degree of ambiguity

Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

9+years of experience in strategy & operations or corporate strategy ideally supporting a marketing organization

MBA degree

Experience as a project lead/engagement manager in management consulting

Tech or financial services industry experience

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$186,000 per year - USD$207,000 per year.
