About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a
Senior Accountant
to join a fast‑growing, dynamic organization in the sports, recreation, and hospitality industry. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accounting professional with strong technical skills, public accounting experience, and the ability to manage multiple entities in a fast‑paced environment.
This role is well‑suited for someone who enjoys full‑cycle accounting, thrives in a collaborative culture, and wants to contribute to process improvements and financial excellence. The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Controller and CFO, gaining exposure to advanced financial operations and leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage
full‑cycle accounting
for multiple entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review
monthly financial statements
and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Handle
accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections , ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
Reconcile
bank accounts, balance‑sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions
on a monthly basis.
Monitor
event‑specific P&Ls
and assist in cost tracking and margin analysis.
Ensure proper
revenue recognition
in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
Assist in
budgeting and forecasting
efforts, supporting leadership with financial insights and variance analyses.
Prepare and organize documentation for
external audits and internal reviews .
Review, code, and import
credit card and travel expense data
in compliance with company policy.
Partner with operational leaders across departments to support accounting accuracy and financial understanding.
Participate in ongoing initiatives to streamline processes, improve internal controls, and enhance reporting systems.
Perform ad hoc projects and financial analyses as directed by the Controller or CFO.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to
public accounting
and corporate accounting.
Strong understanding of
GAAP
and financial reporting principles.
Demonstrated experience with
month‑end close , account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
Proficiency in
QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics 365 , or similar ERP systems.
Advanced skills in
Microsoft Excel
(pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret financial data effectively.
Collaborative team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
