Your Key Responsibilities You’ll spend your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities and tasks, supporting client engagements by participating in day-to-day interactions with team members, providing a quality work product and driving delivery of services to meet deadlines.
Specific responsibilities include:
Submit and deliver tax information reporting (1099/1042‑S/8804), FATCA/CRS reporting, tax withholding certificate validation (Forms W‑8/9) and related withholding and reporting reconciliations for engagements with banks, wealth and asset management firms, and insurance companies.
Work in a highly collaborative culture, listening to and sharing information with colleagues.
Skills And Attributes For Success
Provide timely, efficient and accurate support of information reporting in a volume‑driven environment within deadline‑driven time frames set by governmental agencies and client performance standards.
Balance multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously, working with multiple engagement teams.
Understand tax withholding certificates (Forms W‑8/W‑9) and FATCA/CRS Self‑Certification forms, including required data for accurate tax reporting.
Know vendor and client systems that support an tax operations function.
Analyze bridged customer data and transaction information to identify potential errors and omissions, applying basic tax concepts to modify coding or reporting as necessary.
Manage internal and external communications, including client authorizations, instructions, and other correspondence using tax software, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and proprietary collaboration tools.
Communicate with client tax liaisons, compliance teams, and stakeholders to gather required information and obtain necessary authorization for timely, accurate production of tax information reporting.
Support billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.
Assist engagement teams with reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data and tax information returns to ensure complete, accurate and timely filing, resolving discrepancies.
Maintain regular communication with supervisors and colleagues to provide guidance, status updates, and recommendations for data corrections to support accurate reporting.
To Qualify for the Role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent.
1–2 years of experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn other software applications.
Working knowledge of 1099/1042‑S reporting systems.
Working knowledge of tax compliance and information reporting rules.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team on projects of varying complexity.
Leverage knowledge from education and on‑the‑job experience, including internal and external training.
Coach less experienced team members on administrative tasks supporting the tax compliance process.
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Follow standardized processes and ask questions when needed.
Prioritize assignments to achieve appropriate workflow and timely production of client deliverables.
Commit to periodic travel (5%–10%).
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Experience in a professional services environment.
A proven record in information reporting and withholding tax laws and concepts required for US federal and state returns.
Experience with tax withholding validation and complete tax withholding certificates.
Experience with FATCA/CRS reporting templates.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt your work style to work with internal and client teams.
Proficiency in trust tax software.
