The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is conducting a national search for Chair of the Department of Breast Radiation Oncology. The Chair will establish a transformative vision for the department, guide the development of faculty, and oversee all operations related to the department. The successful candidate will be an accomplished academician and experienced leader. The Department of Breast Radiation Oncology is part of the Division of Radiation Oncology, with the Chair reporting to the Division Head of Radiation Oncology.

Responsibilities The Chair of Breast Radiation Oncology will be responsible for leading a nationally recognized department, providing oversight for the multidisciplinary care of breast cancer patients, and integrating educational programs. The Chair will oversee patient care operations, finances and budgeting, faculty recruitment and retention, and foster a positive work environment that emphasizes excellence in patient care and research via collaboration, collegiality, and wellness. The Chair will represent the department at local, regional, national, and international platforms.

Qualifications

10 years of experience post clinical degree

M.D. or equivalent degree

Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology

Eligible for unrestricted Texas medical licensure

Demonstration of clinical excellence and performance

Administrative experience at a departmental or institutional level

Proven track record of successful and independent clinical or translational research and grant or protocol funding

Consistent record of contributions to education or training and to mentoring of trainees, faculty, or staff

Progressive leadership experience in an academic setting, preferred experience in an oncologic setting

Ability to function effectively in a matrix organization characterized by complex intra- and inter-disciplinary relationships
