You’ll collaborate across disciplines to deliver technically sound and code-compliant packages. We are hiring at both the Engineer II and Senior Engineer levels, depending on experience.

What You’ll Do

Design AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, control house layouts, and relay panel arrangements

Model DC systems and specify components, including fuses, chargers, and batteries

Generate cable schedules, terminal plans, and I/O lists for substation integration

Perform relay coordination studies and develop settings using SEL AcSELerator, ASPEN, CAPE, or ETAP

Ensure alignment with utility standards, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and customer requirements

Participate in cross-disciplinary meetings with civil, SCADA, physical, and telecom engineers

Support construction by responding to RFIs and providing design clarifications

Conduct FATs and confirm that panel wiring, labeling, and functionality match the design

Mentor junior engineers and designers, and contribute to QA/QC reviews

Support proposal scoping and estimating for labor, deliverables, and milestones

Document design decisions, maintain drawing packages, and review vendor submittals

Promote safety and reliability in all technical activities and engineering practices

The Experience We’re Looking For

Engineer II: 3–5 years of experience in substation protection and control design

Senior Engineer: 8+ years of experience in high-voltage substation design and mentoring

Proficient with SEL AcSELerator, ASPEN, CAPE, ETAP, or similar relay software

Strong understanding of protection schemes and relay philosophies

Familiarity with NERC PRC standards, SCADA systems, DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850

Hands‑on experience creating schematics, panel layouts, and signal routing diagrams

Ability to coordinate across departments, resolve layout conflicts, and drive technical quality

Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required

PE license required

Willingness to travel up to 25% across the continental U.S. as needed

Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments

Bonus Points for

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Experience with renewables, battery storage, and DER integration

Knowledge of utility-specific relay philosophies and design review procedures

Hands‑on involvement in FAT, commissioning, or relay testing
