About The Position The Sr. Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity across projects, assisting with monthly close, audits, and revenue tracking. This role requires a solid foundation in GAAP, revenue recognition, and corporate accounting, along with fluency in ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, deep attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a creative, fast‑moving environment supporting both film and TV production and corporate operations.
Responsibilities
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements for both production and corporate entities.
Apply GAAP principles to all accounting activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy across multi‑entity structures.
Support and manage revenue recognition processes, including contracts for production and licensing deals.
Oversee Accounts Receivable functions including billing, collections, and reconciliation, ensuring timely cash flow.
Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for corporate and production audits, collaborating with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
Utilize advanced Excel tools (pivot tables, macros, formulas, Power Query) for reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Maintain and enhance ERP‑based workflows; drive efficiency improvements in Sage Intacct and related reporting systems.
Partner with Production Finance, FP&A, and Business Affairs teams to align financial reporting with active project performance.
Support special projects, including process automation, system integrations, and implementation of new accounting standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within entertainment, media, or production environments.
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
ERP proficiency, Sage Intacct strongly preferred; experience with systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or Dynamics a plus.
Advanced Excel capabilities with proven ability to model, analyze, and reconcile complex financial data.
Demonstrated experience in audit preparation and financial compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with both finance and creative teams.
Detail‑oriented, proactive, and adaptable to shifting production and corporate priorities.
Preferred Attributes
CPA certification (or progress toward CPA).
Experience with production accounting, participations, or royalty reporting.
Passion for the entertainment industry and a desire to contribute to creative‑driven financial operations.
The typical base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and may vary from the stated range.
