Key Responsibilities
Support the Customer Tax Operations practice with the preparation and delivery of tax information reporting (1099/1042-S/8804), FATCA/CRS reporting, tax withholding certificate validation (Forms W‑8/9) and related withholding and reporting reconciliations for engagements with banks, wealth and asset management firms and insurance companies.
Participate in day‑to‑day interactions with team members, providing quality work products and driving service delivery to meet deadlines.
Analyze bridged customer data and transaction information to identify potential errors and omissions, applying basic tax concepts to modify tax reporting coding or reporting pertaining transactions and income.
Manage internal and external communications, including request and documentation of client authorisations, using tax software and basic applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Support billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.
Assist the engagement team with reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data and tax information returns to achieve complete and timely filing.
Communicate with immediate supervisor and colleagues for guidance, status updates and recommendations concerning data issues.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Timely, efficient and accurate support of information reporting in a volume‑driven environment.
Balancing multiple projects and responsibilities across engagement teams.
Understanding of tax withholding certificates (Forms W‑8/W‑9) and FATCA/CRS self‑certification forms.
Knowledge of vendor and client systems that support a tax operations function.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfort with standardised processes and asking questions when needed.
Committed to periodic travel (5%–10%).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent.
1–2 years of experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to learn other software.
Working knowledge of 1099/1042‑S reporting systems and tax compliance and information reporting rules.
Ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
Ideally You’ll Also Have
Experience in a professional services environment.
Proven record in information reporting and withholding tax laws for US federal and state returns.
Experience with tax withholding validation and complete tax withholding certificates.
Experience with FATCA/CRS reporting templates.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in trust tax software.
