What You’ll Do The Business Development Manager is responsible for prospecting and generating sales, developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships, and identifying and closing new business opportunities. This role involves researching market trends, creating strategic plans, and achieving sales targets while ensuring the company’s growth and success.
Job Duties
Develop a thorough knowledge of products and pricing
Review inventory and market trends daily
Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business
Meet or exceed new business sales goals
Conduct prospecting activities to secure appointments with decision-makers
Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations to customers and key decision-makers
Draft sales quotes and necessary paperwork in a timely manner
Submit credit applications for potential customers
Introduce customers to financing options
Maintain awareness of market behavior and competitive trends
Generate deal‑approval documents
Ensure equipment is ready and presentable for purchasing customers
Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential customers
Screen potential deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and customer qualifications
Develop negotiating strategies by studying integration of new ventures with company strategies and operations
Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, negotiating, and integrating deal requirements with business operations
Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
Enhance organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for new and different requests
Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Mentor junior salespeople to improve sales goals and meet expectations
Required Skills and Qualifications
Professional presentation and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Organized with strong time management
Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills
Computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
Experience developing and executing sales strategies
Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or comparable work experience preferred
3‑5 years of sales experience
Consistent ability to hit competitive sales goals and metrics
Ability to travel for new hire training
Compensation
High‑earning commission plan: Maximize income potential, up to and even surpass $237,000 annually
Commission guarantees for first 3 months
Base pay: $16.85–$20/hr depending on skills and experience
