Position Overview
To support the Metallurgical Engineering staff to perform investigatory and daily testing, monitor the concentrator mass consumables inventory, and maintain process monitoring equipment in the concentrator.
Essential Job Duties
Ability to prepare samples and complete basic sample analysis procedures following proper guidelines
Maintain the x‑ray on‑stream analyzers to include basic electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, as well as system sampling and calibration
Maintain the on‑stream sampling systems to include piping and vacuum pump systems
Maintain the control x‑ray spare parts inventory
Monitor Concentrator reagents for daily usage
Monitor and maintain thickener flocculent systems
Monitor and maintain the mine anti‑scalant addition systems
Perform weekly and monthly Concentrator mass consumables inventory, and order required inventory
Interface with purchasing to ensure proper delivery and assist in delivery unloading upon delivery
Test, analyze, and report on proposed procedural and reagent changes by standard laboratory tests
Perform daily screen analyses
Test, analyze and report on Concentrator performance by standard laboratory test
Maintain proper reagent identification according to MSHA standards
Use a wide range of laboratory crushing, grinding, screening, flotation, etc., mineral processing equipment, as well as the analytical devices used to measure results
Additional Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license
High school diploma or equivalent
Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free
MSHA certification preferred and will be required to obtain during 1st or 1st 3 days of employment
Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles
Must be able to take multiple directives and follow instructions with precision
Must have MS Office computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Must have the ability to manage time effectively and set priorities
Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks
Physical and Environmental Job Requirements
Standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving items of up to 50 lbs and more
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions; dusty, hot weather
Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels
