Multiple Postdoctoral Fellow Positions
Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, Department of Oncology/Neurosurgery, Baltimore, Maryland, United States, 21276
A senior postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in Dr. Ranjan J. Perera’s laboratory at the Department of Oncology and Neurosurgery, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and the Center for RNA Biology, Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The Perera laboratory uses biochemical, genetic, genomic, and functional genomic approaches to study the biogenesis mechanisms of regulatory non-coding RNAs and their roles in tumor formation, specifically medulloblastoma and melanoma. Several putative oncogenic and tumor suppressor non-coding and coding RNAs have been identified (Lee et al.). Science Advances 2017 3(5): e1602505, Katsushima et al. Neuro-Oncology 2021, Katsushima et al. https://doi.org/10.1093/neuonc/noaa235, Katsushima et al. Cell Reports 2024. 43, 113938 https://doi.org/10.1016/j.celrep.2024.113938 Yuan et al., EBioMedicine, https://www.thelancet.com/journals/ebiom/article/PIIS2352-3964(25)00339-1/fulltext) and will characterize these through in‑vitro and in‑vivo functional and analytical genomics to connect them to cancer metabolism and the epigenome.
Required Experience
Candidates pursuing a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Cancer and Cell Biology with a strong background in tumor biology, cell biology, molecular biology, or transcriptional/post‑transcriptional gene regulation.
Experience with in vivo mouse studies is a plus.
Perera’s laboratory will be part of the Center for RNA Biology within the new research institute at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. These positions remain open until suitable candidates are found. Salary and benefits will be highly competitive, in line with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine standards. Interested candidates should send their CV and relevant publications to Dr. Ranjan J. Perera at jperera2@jh.edu.
