Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position specializing in IR with pediatric and ICU background, requiring a KY or compact RN license.
Responsibilities Work in the Interventional Radiology (IR) PACU setting within a hospital Patient population includes both adult and pediatric patients Day shifts with variable 12-hour start times (0600, 0700, or 0800), rotating schedule Required to work 3x12 hour shifts per week 3-4 late stays per 6-week period are required On-call required: weekday call from 8PM-6AM; weekend call divided into 12-hour shifts from Saturday 6AM to Monday 6AM Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals IR PACU team is responsible for recovering only IR PACU patients in the main PACU during floating Role includes care and recovery of IR patients post-procedure, including pediatric cases Staff are expected to float to affiliate locations within the same health system if needed Must be able to respond onsite within 1 hour while on call Reference from a charge nurse or supervisor is required for consideration Past employees can return as travelers after a 90-day break Annual and specialty-specific training modules are required and completed during orientation Information about previous employment with the health system must be disclosed during application First-time travelers are accepted if all qualifications are met
Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent specialty experience in PACU required At least 1 year prior ICU experience required Prior experience caring for pediatric patients required IR PACU experience with Phase 1 recovery is required Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and willingness to obtain PALS prior to start No licensure hits accepted Not accepting local candidates who reside within 75 miles of the facility
