We are seeking an experienced Data Center Design Engineer to lead the low-voltage infrastructure design for new greenfield data center buildouts. This role requires hands-on expertise in end-to-end electrical and communications pathway systems, from conceptual design through construction documentation. The ideal candidate will produce detailed scopes of work, accurate material/labor estimates, and fully coordinated BIM models to ensure seamless project execution. ________________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: Lead low-voltage infrastructure design for new data center construction projects, including whitespace, security, and administrative support areas. Develop comprehensive Scope of Work (SOW) documents defining system requirements, performance criteria, and installation standards. Create detailed material take-offs and Bill of Materials (BOM) with vendor-specific part numbers, quantities, and lead times. Prepare labor estimates by trade, phase, and crew size to support project budgeting and scheduling. Design divergent cable pathways (redundant A/B feeds) in compliance with TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier standards, and client availability objectives. Specify and detail grounding and bonding systems per BICSI, IEEE 1100, and NFPA 70 (NEC Article 250/645). Engineer structured cabling systems using CAT 6/6A copper and single mode/multimode fiber for backbone and horizontal distribution. Integrate wireless access point (WAP) infrastructure, including PoE budgeting, coverage modeling, and heat mapping. Produce construction drawings in AutoCAD (2D) and Revit (BIM 360 coordination) with clash-free pathway routing. Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and structural teams to resolve spatial conflicts and maintain design intent. Support RFP responses, value engineering, and design-build procurement processes. Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years of data center low-voltage design experience, with direct involvement in new buildouts (greenfield or major expansions). Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD; able to produce layered, standards-compliant drawings. Full understanding of divergent/redundant pathways, including basket tray, ladder rack, and underfloor systems. In-depth knowledge of grounding standards (TGB, TMGB, RGB, signal reference grids). CAT 6/6A cabling expertise, including termination standards (T568A/B), performance testing (Fluke DSX), and bend radius compliance. Wireless access point design experience (mounting, power, VLAN segmentation, RF interference mitigation). Comprehensive low-voltage scope: structured cabling, DAS, security, BMS integration, and A/V. Proven ability to deliver material/labor estimates within ±5% accuracy. Experience creating complete BOMs with long-lead item flagging. Data Center Design Engineer
