Job Description Summary:

The basic function of the Quality Assurance Officer is to be responsible for interacting and communicating certification requirements, implementing the quality manual and reporting to management the status of the quality program. The QA Officer serves as the focal point for QA/QC and is responsible for the oversight and/or review of quality control data. The QA Officer coordinates all QA tasks locally in Charlotte, NC as well as provides QA support for other laboratories located in NC.

What you will do:

Schedules and performs internal annual audits of each operational area

Responsible for the publication and distribution of the Quality Manual

Notify laboratory management of deficiencies in the quality system

Accompanies external auditors through the laboratory

Review and sign off on DOC forms.

Monitors training records

Act as a liaison between laboratory and accrediting bodies.

Assist with the creation and finalization of administrative and analytical SOPs.

Monitor corrective action.

Oversees and manages the waste management program and annual report

Manages scheduling of ECD leak test

Oversees annual PT reporting

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree or experience in lieu of a degree.

5+ years of related experience with 3+ years supervisory experience preferred.

Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills, with strong computer aptitude.

Ability to work independently and assertively.

Ability to take instructions and maintain predetermined schedules.

Ability to work with other intra-laboratory supervisors to meet QA objectives.

Ability to interface with personnel from other subsidiary laboratories and regulatory agencies.

Familiarity with NELAC standards is an asset.
