Description of Work Unit
At CSU Pueblo, the Information Technology team is a crucial part of the Colorado State University System, which encompasses CSU Fort Collins, CSU Pueblo, and CSU Spur. By working closely with university stakeholders and collaborating with IT teams across the CSU System, the Information Technology team located in Pueblo contributes to the system’s goals of innovation and excellence, fostering a dynamic and effective IT environment on campus.
Information Technology (IT)
The IT unit exists to provide comprehensive information technology partnership, delivery, and support in the form of personnel, desktop and mobile computing, multimedia equipment, hardware, network infrastructure, software, telephone, and network cabling services to the University community. This unit is the centralized computing services department for the university. This position will be based out of the Division of IT offices on our CSU Pueblo campus in Pueblo, Colorado. To support the business needs of our campus community, this position requires in-person work and is not eligible for remote work options.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the day-to-day support of computing resources and systems and for providing exceptional customer service through our help desk system, email, phone and in-person service to all of the programs and departments within their assigned department(s) or college at the CSU Pueblo campus. This position also may have direct responsibility for systems and student workers who may also be assigned to a department or college. They may be responsible for hiring, training and supervising a team of student workers.
Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Sciences, Business, Management, Liberal Arts or similar field. Candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED) and equivalent related professional experience will be considered for employment with this position (without the required bachelor’s degree or other post-secondary education)
Demonstrated ability for a high level of written/verbal communication
Hands‑on experience in the following tasks and systems (or similar):
Managing Active Directory Objects
Technical experience with the most current version of Windows and/or MacOS
At least 2 years of cumulative experience performing tasks in the following areas (or similar):
IT break‑fix support, software support, hardware installation, IT maintenance activities
Preferred Job Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to offer a high level of customer service
Experience with print server management
Experience with helpdesk and inventory management systems
Experience using Windows imaging with MS SCCM or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or closely related imaging system.
Experience managing or implementing MS SCCM
At least 1 year of experience formally supervising or mentoring employees
4 + years of experience in IT break‑fix support, software support, hardware installation and repair, IT maintenance activities

Technical duties include: installation, upgrading, maintenance/updates, virus/malware remediation, and troubleshooting IT related issues
Engage vendors for warranty repair services
Hire and supervise student employees and develop on‑the‑job training options
Act as point of escalation for IT issues for other team members
Manage the imaging, JAMF and printer server systems
Participate in planning of projects related area of responsibility
Create, maintain, and review documentation for the students and technicians
Other duties as necessary to provide technical support and customer service
