Job Summary
This position provides student‑centered, equity‑minded support and leadership within the Housing and Residential Life program at California State University, Long Beach. The incumbent facilitates residence life services, oversees student leaders, and ensures equitable, inclusive quality of campus life. Key Responsibilities
Recruit, select, place, evaluate, and administrate residential life student leaders. Assess and address student concerns, manage crises, and coordinate support services. Maintain schedules, programming, and community development activities for residential life. Oversee daily building administration, operations, and scheduling for the academic year and breaks. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in English grammar, business writing, and communication. Experience with student residential life programs and resident assistant supervision (≥1 year). Skill in counseling, conflict resolution, group dynamics, and crisis intervention. Ability to plan, develop, and conduct training workshops and retreats. Strong organizational, budgeting, and confidential communication skills. Proficiency with state, federal, CSU, and CSULB policies and procedures. Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or related field and two years of related professional experience. Two years of experience in student housing preferred. Master’s degree in student development, higher education, counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or directly related field preferred. Must reside on campus pursuant to the Life‑in‑Staff Agreement. Physical Summary
Requires lifting 20–40 pounds, standing, walking, kneeling, or squatting for significant portions of the shift; may involve pushing or pulling objects. Licenses

Salary: $5,083 – $5,350 per month (or $5,083 – $7,228 per month for CSU Classification). Benefits
