Haymarket Center is the largest not-for-profit community-based adult detoxification, residential, and outpatient substance abuse treatment facility in Chicago. It has continued to grow into a comprehensive alcohol and other drug treatment organization, licensed by the state of Illinois, receiving funding from the private sector, as well as city, county, state, and federal agencies. The treatment programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF). RN SUPERVISOR
executes the delivery of nursing care to patients withdrawing from drugs and alcohol and requiring substance abuse treatment and healthcare. Salary range $75,000-$85,000. This position is part of a staff team integrating primary care into treatment services for patients suffering from acute withdrawal symptoms, substance use disorders, and co-existing mental illnesses. The role involves monitoring patient health, reviewing and monitoring medications, providing health screens and education, coordinating care with the agency psychiatrist, and assisting in healthcare service provision when necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide direct healthcare screening and maintenance. Treat common illnesses. Make referrals to medical services as needed according to physician orders, the nursing care plan, or established protocols. Follow up with medical providers when patients are referred for care and integrate any prescribed and/or recommended treatment regimens into treatment plans. Educate patients on health issues related to mental health and substance abuse. Maintain confidentiality of protected patient information and protect patient rights in compliance with all legal and licensure requirements. Conduct oneself in a professional manner and in compliance with unit and facility policies. Initiate emergency support measures (e.g., CPR, protecting patients from injury). Maintain patient care supplies, equipment, and environment. Participate in training offered by Haymarket Center to stay current with the latest treatment practices and recent developments in clinical care. Perform duties that are part of the program guidelines or as requested by the Director of Nursing or Vice President of Clinical Services. REQUIREMENTS: A Registered Nurse (RN) licensed under the Nurse Practice Act [225 ILCS 65] with at least one year of clinical experience in a mental health setting or a master's degree in psychiatric nursing.
