Period of Employment: Part time - 10 months 4 hours per day minimum - The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and the ability to work as needed between the hours of 6:00 am and 4:30 pm.
Reports to: Business Manage/Special Services Director

Position Summary: The job of Student Van Driver was established for the purpose/s of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions in a school vehicle; ensuring vehicle operation is in a safe operating condition; ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses; and assisting with routine Districtwide deliveries.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities : Must hold and maintain a Valid Connecticut Driver's License with a "V" endorsement and no serious violations. However, if you don't have the proper endorsement, please inquire. We can help you thru this process. Have a minimum of three years' previous safe driving experience. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community. Ability to read and interpret maps. Ability to complete records as required Ability to pass required medical examinations. Meet such alternatives to the above as the supervisor may find appropriate and acceptable.
