Corporate Communication Consultant

who can elevate our brand voice, strengthen member and employee communication, and bring creative, innovative thought leadership to one of the most respected electric cooperatives in the nation. Why This Role Matters As a key member of our Corporate Communications team, you will shape how EnergyUnited shows up to our employees, our members, and the communities we proudly serve. You will help ensure that our messaging is clear, impactful, consistent, and aligned with our brand values and mission. Your work will support strategic initiatives, executive communications, member engagement, and brand storytelling across multiple platforms. What You Will Do Lead High Impact Communication Efforts Develop and execute communication strategies for internal and external audiences, including digital, print, video, and social platforms. Create compelling content for newsletters, email campaigns, the EnergyUnited website, social media, press releases, white papers, and cooperative publications. Support executive and corporate communication needs with strong messaging, storytelling, and brand alignment. Drive Brand and Content Excellence Maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels and ensure accuracy, clarity, and editorial excellence. Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and departments across the cooperative to deliver effective communication that strengthens engagement. Boost Engagement and Innovation Develop content plans that inform, educate, and inspire members, employees, and community partners. Lead content planning and ideation from concept to execution to performance analysis. Build and grow influencer and engagement strategies to amplify EnergyUnited’s brand reach. What You Bring You are a communicator with both creative insight and strategic thinking, and you know how to adjust your tone based on your audience. Required Experience and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Three or more years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or content strategy. Experience in the energy sector is a plus. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling ability, including the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences. A portfolio or samples of work are encouraged. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Familiarity with AP Style and the ability to translate complex or technical topics into clear, engaging content. Experience with content marketing and digital communication best practices. Experience with Salesforce marketing technology is a plus. Work Environment and Additional Details Status: Full-time, Exempt Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Must be able to report to an EnergyUnited office for collaboration, meetings, and events as needed. Residency Requirement: Must maintain primary residence within one of the 19 counties we serve or within 40 road miles of any EnergyUnited office. Occasional evenings or irregular hours may be required to support major events, outages or storm communications, and high priority initiatives.
