The Gananda CSD is seeking people for our Bus Driver Training Program, a program for the purpose of training and licensing individuals to perform services as substitute bus drivers in the District with the potential to become a permanent bus driver. The District shall provide the Bus Driver Trainee opportunities to obtain requisite training, licensing, and certification to lawfully provide school bus driving services in the State of New York. The training and licensing requirements fulfilled during the training/licensing period shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
A. Vehicle and Traffic Law Article 19-A training;
B. Commercial Driver’s License (“CDL”) licensing;
C. Annual physical examination (to be completed by a licensed medical provider) and physical performance test. (8 NYCRR §156.3(b)(3)(ii) and (iii)); and
D. Professional development training in accordance with District’s developed curriculum.
The hourly rate of $25.00 shall apply to Bus Driver Trainee’s scheduled hours participating in training and licensing activities.
The terms of the Bus Driver Training Program Agreement will be reviewed in detail with potential candidates.
