Job Details
Key Responsibilities: Structure and negotiate joint venture agreements, with an emphasis on low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) transactions. Serve as lead advisor to affordable housing developers navigating multiple sources of debt and equity financing. Provide strategic guidance on tax-efficient structuring for real estate projects, ensuring the optimal use of tax credits and incentives. Draft comprehensive joint venture agreements on behalf of developers across a variety of real estate projects. Ensure ongoing LIHTC compliance and navigate complex regulatory frameworks. Deliver practical, solution-oriented counsel directly to clients while identifying and mitigating tax-related risks.
Qualifications: Active California Bar license. 4+ years of experience advising clients in affordable housing transactions and LIHTC matters. Strong understanding of partnership tax issues and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to serve as a lead advisor providing strategic, hands-on counsel to clients. A portable book of business is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
