The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer Specialist plays a crucial role in developing, testing, and implementing advanced information security tools and solutions within Humana. You will oversee design engineering and testing processes for Humana's EIP products and collaborate with EIP stakeholders to transition these products from concept to large-scale production release. This role involves addressing complex issues requiring a thorough analysis of varying factors.

In this position, you will design, supervise, and execute engineering tests that validate platform and product designs. You may also create and implement protocols and solutions aimed at protecting sensitive data from internal and external threats while updating Humana's IT and information security infrastructure accordingly. Your strategic influence will extend to departmental strategies, and you will make decisions on complex technical approaches for project components, working independently and exercising significant latitude in determining project objectives and approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer data protection products, such as Privacera.
  • Deploy solutions on Azure and GCP Clouds.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines within the Azure environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enhance the security solutions lifecycle, which includes evaluation, purchasing, building, technical policy configuration, integration into Cloud environments, and operational management.
  • Participate in R&D for Data Protection security solutions to assess cutting-edge tools for strategic security capabilities aligned with business priorities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on security controls, particularly with Privacera.
  • Identify needs for new security technology solutions; design and collaborate on their deployment.
Research and Development
  • Stay updated on the latest security developments, including mitigation strategies, threat landscapes, tools, attack vectors, and preventive measures.
  • Engage in evaluating new products or technology solutions with appropriate ROI and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Conduct technical proof of concepts.

Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools like PowerShell and/or Python (beginner to intermediate level).
  • Experience in Security & Major Incident response.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Azure monitoring.
  • Proficiency in writing shell scripts.
  • Outstanding ability to build trust with project sponsors and key stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and execute tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Over 3 years of experience in a Cybersecurity-related role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant IT Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CISSP, CEH, Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with security operations in cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with enterprise security controls (Firewall, Proxy, AV, SIEM) and broad security issues across multiple platforms.
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications.
  • Knowledge of Access Controls and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Additional Information
  • Work from home requirements: A high-speed DSL or cable modem is necessary. Associates working from home in California will receive compensation for internet expenses.
  • Minimum performance speed requirement is 25 mbps download and 10 mbps upload. No satellite or wireless internet service can be used for this role.
  • A dedicated workspace is required, free from interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
Travel

This is primarily a remote position, but occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be necessary.

Pay Range

The pay range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment (40 hours per week) at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on geographic location and individual skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.

$106,900 - $147,000 per year

This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and/or company performance.
