Job Overview Join SR Companies as Chief Accounting Officer (CAO). The CAO is a mission‑driven, detail‑oriented executive who oversees all accounting operations across multiple businesses and entities.

Job Summary The CAO ensures accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other accounting standards, and stewardship of accounting policies, systems, and internal controls. The CAO serves as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.

Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.

Maintain compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other accounting standards.

Prepare financial statements, management reports, and audit documentation.

Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.

Oversee all external audits and coordinate with independent auditors.

Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and other regulatory reports.

Partner with CFO and senior leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Manage treasury functions including receivables, disbursements, bank reconciliation, and cash flow.

Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes to support scalability.

Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices, recommending changes as needed.

Demonstrate the “Golden Rule” of treating others the way we wish to be treated in all actions and communications.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA required.

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Deep knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.

Experience with audit, tax, compliance, and reporting.

Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Proficiency in accounting software.

Exceptional PC skills, including Advanced MS Excel.

Ability to meet firm deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to work independently.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to the Company Drug‑Free Workplace Policy, including random testing.

Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and remotely. Ability to work at the corporate office one to two days per week.

Physical Demands

Required to stand, walk, and sit regularly and occasionally for prolonged periods of time.

Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends.

Travel required: Less than 20%.
