The

Director of Global Accounting

leads all accounting operations and financial compliance for SYPartners worldwide. This hands-on, senior role ensures accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financial systems and reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions - including the U.S., UAE, KSA, and other future markets. The ideal candidate balances operational precision with strategic vision, thriving in a creative, fast-moving, and purpose-driven environment. What You'll Do Global Accounting Operations Oversee all accounting functions across entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare consolidated financial statements and analysis for SYPartners' parent company Manage multi-entity consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and foreign currency translation Partner with the People Team to ensure accurate payroll and benefits accounting across all geographies Oversee banking, cash management, and financial controls to maintain liquidity and mitigate risk Drive process improvement and automation across accounting and reporting systems (e.g., Intacct, NetSuite, Workday, Dynamics, or equivalent) Develop KPIs and analytical dashboards to monitor efficiency, growth, and profitability globally Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks across all entities Lead all global statutory, tax, and audit compliance, including VAT, transfer pricing, and intercompany transactions Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with evolving regulations Partner with the parent company on group reporting, controls, and risk management standards Support entity formation and registration in new markets, ensuring adherence to local accounting and employment laws Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks across jurisdictions Technical Accounting and Financial Leadership Research and interpret complex accounting issues, including business combinations, leases, and impairments Lead the adoption and documentation of new accounting standards, policies and procedures Provide expertise on revenue recognition, foreign currency, and fixed asset management Deliver financial insights and scenario analyses to guide leadership decisions Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP, Finance and Accounting on technical and compliance matters Cross-Functional Partnership and Contract Support Partner with outside counsel on client and vendor contract reviews to ensure financial and legal compliance Collaborate with Consulting teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition Maintain internal financial policies (spending, travel, expense) and promote strong cross-functional collaboration with People, Legal, and Operations teams Team Leadership and Development Lead and mentor accounting staff across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting Build and develop a globally distributed, high-performing team Foster collaboration, accountability, and transparency across functions and geographies Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial leaders Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting;

CPA certification required 8+ years of progressive experience, including at least 5 years in a senior accounting or controller role within a professional services or creative organization Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP; strong familiarity with IFRS and UK GAAP Proven experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency operations and international compliance Prior exposure to Middle East accounting (UAE/KSA), VAT, and statutory audit requirements Strong systems proficiency (Intacct, NetSuite, Workday, Dynamics, Planful, or equivalent) Demonstrated success leading automation and systems improvement initiatives Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Collaborative, hands-on leader who brings clarity, optimism, and momentum to complex challenges A strong cultural fit with SYPartners' values: thoughtful, creative, transparent, and purpose-driven Location

The salary range for this role is approximately $145,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
