The technician will utilize chemical agents for decontamination and operate cleaning equipment. Knowledge of disinfectants and high-level disinfection processes is essential. Manual cleaning and proper labeling of instruments and equipment are critical. The role involves organizing trays and placing instruments on trays for surgical use. Techs will engage in sterilization wrapping procedures and proper selection of wrapping materials. Experience in endoscope and scope/probe reprocessing is crucial. The candidate will handle various instruments across specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, and robotics. Understanding the procedures for steam sterilization testing and monitoring is required. Ability to document equipment usage accurately is necessary. Flexibility to be on call or work weekends is required. Strong attention to detail and adherence to aseptic techniques is essential for maintaining patient safety. The technician will be expected to collaborate with team members in an interdisciplinary environment.
