Description
The Associate / Designer will focus on developing seasonal product that drives growth and aligns with the brands DNA. You will own product development from concept through production and play a hands-on role in sampling, tech packs, trend research, color development, approvals, and art sheets. The ideal candidate will be trend-savvy, technically strong, and excited to work in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
This role is a key opportunity to maintain the brand's legacy while bringing newness and identifying white space in the line.
Girls- tween/ big girls 4-16
sets, separates, dresses, wovens and knits
Responsibilities Design/Product: Oversee the product and sample execution for each season Execute seasonal assortments that are trend-forward and commercially viable. Build tech packs and provide detailed construction comments, ensuring accuracy for overseas production. Communicate with overseas offices daily to execute accurate and attractive sampling in the timeline required. Manage product approvals including color submits, fit samples, and trims. Shop the market regularly and bring competitive insights and inspiration to line planning. Identify opportunities for new product categories that align with the brands' esthetic. Ensure deadlines are met according to the production calendar. Present clear, detailed, and well-organized design concepts to internal teams. Cross-Functional Partnerships:
Collaborate with Sales, Production, Tech Design, and the Tech Pack Team to ensure seamless product execution. Work with Tech Pack Designers to ensure accurate information flow from costing through production. Communicate updates, corrections, and approvals across teams, including Production Coordinators. Ensure consistency with style plans and merchandising strategy while allowing space for creative exploration. Requirements
3-5+ years of experience in apparel design, ideally in the girls' or junior/tween market. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and tech pack creation. Strong sketching skills and ability to communicate design ideas quickly and clearly. Solid knowledge of garment construction, fit, and fabric types across knits and wovens. Passion for trend, with a pulse on what's relevant in the market. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Clear, open communicator with strong follow-through and organizational skills. Willingness to "fail forward" and learn from feedback. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
Hybrid Work Schedule
4 days a week in the office, 1 day work from home
New York Pay Rate $55,000 - $85,000
